If you urgently need medical help or advice outside of your normal GP opening hours, then you should use the NHS 111 service.
NHS 111 is staffed by a team of fully trained advisers, supported by experienced nurses and paramedics. They will ask you questions to assess your symptoms, then give you the healthcare advice you need or direct you to the local service that can help you best. One of the services available is our GP Out of Hours Service.
Once you have been referred to the service, further care can include:
- telephone advice
- a face-to-face consultation at one of three centres in Arrowe Park, Eastham or Wallasey
- a home visit where deemed clinically necessary
Usual opening times
Monday to Friday: 6.30pm – 8.00am
Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays: 24 hour service (8.00am – 8.00am)
If you think you need to speak to a GP out of hours then please call NHS 111.
