Who we are
Our team is made up of experienced practitioners who are highly skilled and experienced in coordinating the admin side of our vaccination programmes, liaising with schools over dates and answering phone calls from parents and directing as appropriate.
What we do
It’s important to protect your children against a number of dangerous infectious diseases.
The national vaccination programme means that diseases like polio have disappeared in the UK – this is only possible by maintaining the high vaccination rates for children and young people across our local communities.
Our team follows the national vaccination programme and offer vaccinations to protect against:
- Flu
- Meningococcal ACWY
- School leavers booster of Diphtheria
- Tetanus and Polio (Td/IPV)
- Human Papillomavirus (HPV)
- MMR as required
We routinely offer:
Age | Vaccination | Schedule |
Reception and years 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 | Nasal Flu | October – December |
Year 9 girls and boys | Tetanus/Diphtheria/Polio and Meningitis ACWY | May- July |
Year 9 girls and boys | MMR is offered if your child has not previously had 2 doses | May-July |
Year 8 girls and boys | HPV | February- April |
How to access the service
The vaccination programme is routinely delivered within schools.
Schools will send out an electronic consent (e-consent) form to all parents/carers to complete. Children of secondary school age may be able to give their own consent for the vaccination if they can demonstrate they fully understand the benefits and risks. Read more about our e-consent programme.
Following each programme our team offer ‘catch up’ clinics – details of these will be sent home if required. If your child is not attending school or is unable to attend a clinic our team offer home visits and arrangements are made to offer the EHE appropriate immunisations.
