Children and Young People Services in Cheshire East, St Helens, Knowsley and Wirral – an introduction
Our Children and Young People Services include:
- 0-19+ Health and Wellbeing Service – Cheshire East
- 0-25 Service – Knowsley
- 0-19+ Service – St Helens
- 0-19 Health and Wellbeing Service – Wirral
They are structured around the national Healthy Child Programme and provide support for children, young people and their families. Support begins during pregnancy and continues until the child reaches the age of 19.
Services include:
- Health Visiting
- Infant Feeding – Cherubs, Cheshire East and Koala Northwest, Wirral
- School Nursing
- Family Nurse Partnership (FNP) – Cheshire East and Wirral
- Enhanced Families Programme (EFP) – Knowsley and St Helens
- Immunisation and screening – Cheshire East and Wirral
- Fit Club – Wirral only
- Teen Team – Wirral only
They provide:
- support from our health visiting and family nurse partnership team
- regular health reviews at key points during your child’s development
- infant feeding support
- telephone advice
- face-to-face and virtual appointments
- drop-in clinics offering advice and support across schools and community venues
- support to manage minor illnesses and prevent accidents
- school nursing and immunisations
- health and wellbeing support for primary and secondary schools
- weight management support for children, young people and their families
- targeted support for young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)
- support for young carers
- confidential text messaging service via ChatHealth
- online support via the parents and carers dedicated portal
The service enables children and young people to access a range of healthcare services quickly to ensure they achieve their full potential as adults.
