Our award-winning Infection Prevention and Control team continue on their journey of success.

Last week the team attended the IPS Impact Awards 2023 which celebrate initiatives that demonstrate excellence, innovation or improvement in Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) practice, service delivery or education.

The IPC and wider project team (Health Protection Service and Antimicrobial Stewardship Lead for Wirral Place) received the ‘Award for Excellence – Gold Award’ for the system wide Urinary Tract Infections (UTI) Improvement Project – a collaboration to reducing the impact of Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) and strengthen infection prevention and control via improving the diagnosis and management of UTIs and hydration.

This category recognises members who are aiming for and achieving the best in IPC practice or education. Congratulations to all involved.

Another example of the team’s initiatives around the improvement of IPC practices is the IPC Digital Hub. The hub is a one stop shop for all things infection prevention and control!

The team has made it easier for health and care professionals (general practice, early years and education, care settings and adult social care) to access a wealth of information, training and guidance.
