St Catherine’s Health Centre welcomes local young artists from West Kirby Grammar School
The Christmas countdown has finally begun at St Catherine’s Health Centre!
Wirral Community Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust (WCHC) welcomed the Mayor and Mayoress of Wirral on Wednesday 4 December, to officially turn on the Christmas lights and open the new art exhibition. And what an event it was!
Since 2014 the Trust has invited pupils from a Wirral school to showcase their best artists. This year pupils from West Kirby Grammar School have their work on display across all four floors of the health centre. Everywhere you turn you are greeted by creative artwork from local talented artists!
The school also gave an outstanding musical performance featuring a string quartet, a saxophone medley and an uplifting performance from members of the school choir. The work on display from West Kirby Grammar School features creative masterpieces using a range of fine art, graphic communications and textile design.
The health centre is a community asset, so the Trust is delighted that each exhibition creates a bright and stimulating healthcare environment for patients, visitors and staff to enjoy. Every year the Trust receives lovely feedback from people who say how much they enjoy seeing the health centre used in such a way.
The art exhibition is supported by Arts Society Wirral, which kindly funded the artwork frames.
Following the event Janelle Homes, Chief Executive at WCHC, said; “The Trust’s biennial art exhibition gives local young people the opportunity to showcase their artistic talents. It was wonderful to see pupils and their families come together to enjoy the private viewing and to enjoy the wonderful musical performances.
A heartfelt thank you to the talented pupils and dedicated staff at West Kirby Grammar School for getting involved in our exhibition. We hope everyone enjoys it as much as we do.”
If you are visiting the health centre, don’t forget to view the exhibition. You won’t want to miss it.
